Obituary for Leo Gaudette

Leo Gaudette
TILTON---Leo J. Gaudette, husband of the Late Dora Mae Gaudette, resident of Quinn Trailer Park in Tilton, passed away at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, on Wednesday, June 27th, after a period of declining health.

Born on July 3, 1940 in Norton, Vt, he was the son of Denis J. and Mary (Potter) Gaudette.

Leo was one of twelve siblings. Two of which passed away shortly after birth. The remaining ten, eight boys and two girls, grew up together in the North Country, including Norton, VT, Colebrook, NH and West Stewards Town, NH. Leo attended Groveton High School, and then entered the work force. He had many jobs including Truck Driver, Mill Worker, Machine Operator, and Security at NH Motor Speedway, but his favorite job was taking care of his family. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing, and on most weekends could be found in the stands of a local race track, enjoying the faced paced excitement of oval track racing. Leo always wanted to drive a “real racecar” and was fortunate enough to do the Richard Petty Experience at NHIS driving 30 laps in a genuine 600hp NASCAR racecar.

He survived by son; Tim Gaudette, Son Dennis Smith and partner Darryl Smith, a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Joseph Cyr, a Grand-daughter, Jennifer Gaudette and two great grandchildren, Jareth and Jordon Gaudette. He is also survived by brothers; Henry J, Wilfred J, Johnny J and Willie J Gaudette, and sister Pauline Stohl.

In addition to his wife; Dora, he was predeceased by his brothers Arthur J, Archie J, and David J. Gaudette, and sister Elizabeth Cote.
