The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Frank Osmer can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Obituary for Frank Osmer Jr.

Frank Osmer Jr.
CAMPTON---Frank James Osmer Jr., 92, of Campton, died unexpectedly but after a long decline, on May 4. 2018, at assisted living at Golden View in Meredith. NH.

He was born in Hudson, NH, in 1925, the son of Frank J. and Olivine Osmer, Sr.

He served in the Navy during WWII as a Gunnersmate on the light cruiser USS ASTORIA. After discharge from the Navy he returned to NH and worked first at the Nashua Card Shop and as a hot air furnace installer for Roger Brothers Builders; he later went to work for the Manchester Union Leader as a pressman, retiring from there in 1993 after 35 years.

He was predeceased by his wife Louise in 2008 after 62 years of marriage. Frank and Louise were married in 1946 and resided first in Salem. In 1949 they bought land in Hudson on Adelaide Street where Frank built their home. They resided there, caring for Louise's parents, and raising their three children. In 1958 they bought property on Stinson Lake in Rumney where they built themselves a wonderful lake cottage where they enjoyed many summers and winter activities with all their children and grandchildren. In 2004 they moved in with their eldest son and his wife, where Frank cared for Louise until her death.

Frank played a key role in the early days of the Hudson Little League as a coach, prepping the field before games, and taking the young players to Hollis to play games at the Strawberry Festival.

Family members include his children, son Stephen and his wife Carole in New Hampshire; daughter Karen and her husband John in Kentucky; and son Kelly and fiancée Donna in Massachusetts; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his 5 siblings, sisters Anna, Francis, Rita, and June, and brother Lester.

There are no services planned. His and his wife’s ashes will be interred later in Hudson. A family gathering is planned at his son and daughter-in-law’s home this summer when family and friends can share their memories of Frank and Louise.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank and Louise’s memory to Pemi-Baker Community Health Center, 101 Boulder Point Drive Suite 3, Plymouth, NH 03264 or to Speare Memorial Hospital, 16 Hospital Road, Plymouth, NH 03264.
