Condolences

Condolence From: Leon M Parker
Condolence: Stewart and I met in 1986 and I associated with him at New Hampshire Busness Sales. He became my mentor, my teacher, and one of my best friends. We travelled a lot of miles together around the state chasing listings and dealing with issues. His system for running the company was one that precluded the kind of competition that damages relationships and even destroys some real estate sales organizations.
When we took over the company in 1999 and bought the company from him in 2000 he was really generous. He continued after that to be an active associate, and gave us a lot of good advice about how to run things.
He was one of the outstanding politicians in the state, a leader for years in the Association of Raltors, but most importantly fhe founder of our company over 40 years ago. We miss him a lot!

Condolence From: George F. Sanborn Jr.
Condolence: I grew up with my maternal grandparents, Wilbur and Molly (Avery) Dearborn, on Route 25, at Greene's Corner, Moultonborough, neighbors of the Lampreys. My grandmother did not believe that women should vote. She thought they should stay out of politics and leave it to men. She also liked and respected Stewart Lamprey and held him in high regard. I was very young when Stewart came to our door one afternoon, perhaps about 1951, looking for votes in an upcoming election. Only my grandmother and I were home. She invited Stewart in and they talked while I went out to feed our hens. When election day came, my grandmother told my grandfather to wait, she was going to the polls with him. Everyone was very surprised. She said it was the only time in her life that she had voted, and she was only there because Stewart Lamprey had asked her to please consider voting for him, he needed her support, she said. And so she did and he was elected. I am quite sure she never voted again, either. She thought Stewart was a fine, honorable man of principles, and deserved her vote. I'm sorry to hear of his death, one of the last of our older townsfolk from my childhood.

Condolence: Stewart - A mentor and friend for so many years. I suspect that your legislature legacy will put you a" head" above the rest.

We certainly had some adventures in real estate including a trip to RI in the evening to meet with a very brilliant Rabbi. A pleasant reminesnce for both of us, whenever we got together.

You always amazed me when negotiating with Buyers, Sellers & Lawyers and when the Deal seemingly had come to a major stumbling block, then off would come your glasses, you'd rub your brow, speak humbly so as not to offend anyone, and softly and tentatively roll out a solution to our impasse that would always be acceptable to both parties. (Just like in the Legislature, Im sure.

Rest in Peace, Stewart. God probably has a challlenge that needs resolution already waiting for you and your wisdom to solve.
